DNS RELIEF FELLOWSHIP – FLORIDA

Honduras House Building

Native brethren workers both local & distant

Most of you know of the devastation that hurricane ETA did to literally hundreds of believers. 26 fellowships in Honduras agreed to each take care of 30 families. (750+ families)

The brethren fellowships in Honduras have been blessed since Hurricane Mitch in 1998 to have leaders that have formed teams of men and women to be available for any disaster. The men take off from their secular work and the women do likewise to cook for the teams.

The important cooks preparing food. Over $3334 US was given away to those needy & to feed the many construction workers.

The teams travel from good distances at a personal cost of $35 return via bus. There are 4-5 teams at the ready in the country. Typically a team works one week on and one week off. Houses are completed in 6 weeks. Two different teams work taking turns.

Nine homes at this site

The cost of building the homes for materials is: $4000 US funds. There are no labor costs. The lots were another $3500+ US.

The homes are 25′ X 22′ with sewer connections and are built in 30 days.

Proyect Betesda is supported by CMML, MSC, ECHOES, DNS, Dominican Rep., El Salvador, Germany, and other native believers from the USA and other countries. DNS as have others have been instrumental in providing medical equipment, clothes, and in this case homes for believers. On other occasions believers homes that were burnt to the ground or destroyed. This help has gone on since the decade of the 90’s.

Each home has a kitchen, restroom, 2 bedrooms & living room.

The pictures above are only of one community. There will be a second-like community in another area of similar size.

Typically the homes are not rented or sold. Only believers who have been selected by the elders of the local fellowship qualify to possess a home. If the family consistently lives in the home for 10 years and are in fellowship with the local church they will then get legal possession of the home. (There are some variations of this depending on whether the occupant purchases the land and owns it outright.)

A specific group of believers who lived in a very remote mountainous area lost everything as the landslide buried their homes and everything in it. Fortunately they were warned to evacuate immediately.

Because DNS is involved in several areas of the Carribean where needs are great, it is most gratifying to see the Lord’s children provide for other members of our international family.

DNS Relief Fellowship has developed a institutional relationship so that funds can be delivered within a few days at minimal cost. 100% of what is received by DNS for any of the projects is used for the salvation of the lost and for the welfare both spiritual and temporal of believers. DNS is a 501-C3 not-for profit organization and can issue receipts for tax purposes in the USA. Gifts can be sent to:
