Last night we read a request from a widowed and lonely sister, asking for a new roof for her house, since the one she has is rotten. The help was immediately approved. I attached a photograph of Ella with the bottom of her house. (Well, if we can call it a house?)
We also are dealing with a case of an older brother of one of our congregations. He fell out of a tree and broke his back. The operation cost 150,000 lempiras. [$6,085.00] He still owes 65,000 lempiras. [$2637] We are going to support him with 20,000 lempiras. [$811.00] (They never totally pay off anybody’s bills as it sets a bad precedent.)
Recently, we paid for an operation of a brother whose bowel was stuck/attached to his bladder. So when he urinated it included stool. Thank the Lord, the operation was a success. The second photograph attached is of that brother when he arrived at one of our Betesda meetings to thank us for supporting him with the cost of the operation. He is the one in the blue shirt. (Noe took the picture so he is not in it.)
